The City Rail Link (CRL) is a game-changer for Auckland. Not only will the project have a significant impact on improving transport links for the people of Auckland, it is also the largest transport infrastructure project ever to be undertaken in New Zealand.

The second part of the infrastructure works required were on the streets around the busy city centre area of Scene Lane and Britomart Place in Auckland. Having worked efficiently across the tunnel and track works, Martinus were in situ for civil works which were initiated in April 2022.  Martinus worked closely with partners including City Rail Link, Link Alliance, Auckland Council and Auckland Transport to ensure the following surface works could be completed:

  • Implementation of temporary road alterations
  • Removal and reinstatement of existing canopy and planter boxes
  • Locate and move existing services and utilities
  • Design and construct temporary piled retaining wall
  • Implementation of a temporary de-watering system
  • Demolish the old south wall, and construct a new south wall
  • Construct new load beam and walls
  • Supply and install Precast Panels
  • Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) liner to the existing waste pipe
  • Reinstate existing surfaces including construction of new planter beds
